Summer fun

Summer is when we are graced with the maximum amount of light from the sun. The extra hours of daylight beckons us to be active out in the world. And this summer feels extra special, as the science of vaccinations has given us the gift to safely be with our friends and family again.

Ah, summer.

Outdoor dining and sharing pizza with your best friends. (Yes, I eat pizza! Heck, I might have even had ice cream after this…)

So I encourage you to enjoy your summer. Toss your notions of what the perfect “summer body” should be. Your body is the vessel that allows you to be here, right now. Thank your body, and enjoy your body. Wherever you are in your fitness journey, offer your body some gratitude for getting you to this point.

Importantly, also make moments for reflection. We are sitting at the halfway mark of the year. Where do you want to take your fitness the rest of the year? Where do you want your life to be at the end of the year? Think of what it will take to achieve these goals and how you will feel. Write it down and hold yourself accountable.

As you explore outdoor adventures or dig into yet another BBQ, really enjoy those experiences. You’ll be putting in the work soon enough.
